As February comes to a close, I have decided to drive to Toronto from where I live near Magog in the Eastern Townships of Quebec - a 10 hour trip. This trip will be aimed at "killing 2 birds with one stone", if you will. I will attend the United Empire Loyalist Dominion Council meeting on saturday, March 05, as well as visiting my soon to be 92 year old mother Helen in Don Mills. Helen is in declining health now and every visit is important. I have advised Dominion HQ of my up-coming presence by email and by proxy, and I also plan to spend a Loyalist social evening on friday night, March 04, in a Café in Toronto. I have invited my sister Trudy to accompany me for the occasion. Trudy is now the live in care-giver for our mother Helen.
I plan to stay less than one week in Toronto - depending on weather of course. I will be driving alone as my wife will be staying home to animal sit the dog and cat. I am looking forward to the trip as a break from my hip operation physiotherapy routine, as a chance to meet some interesting Loyalists that I communicate with by email, and last but not least, a chance to spend some treasured moments with my family and aging mother.
